Arab Billionaire could buy into Roar.
BRISBANE Roar directors are in negotiations with a mystery Arab billionaire who is eyeing up to 90 per cent of shares in the embattled A-League club.
Roar owners Emmanuel Drivas, Emmanuel Kokoris and Serge and Claude Baradel are keen to ease their own financial bleeding by offloading the majority of their shares to a business consortium backed by the Dubai-based Sheik.
"There has been a little bit of interest from an overseas investor," Drivas said last night.
"But part of the deal is that the current directors still retain some shares in the club.
"We'd like to stay involved."
The takeover could be confirmed as early as next week, with Roar directors last night awaiting further details from the potential new backer
Great news for the Roar, would bring in some much needed cash, hopefully they can bring some quality signings in if he buys the club.
